On the road of life

Our lives are a bit like a road trip. All of us start out excited, but then a flat tire, a road block, a detour--- and then we get turned around and lose our way. 

None of us are immune from the drama and energetic complexity on this shared road and landscape. All of us worry, all of us get anxious, all of us get angry and lost. Here are some of the landmarks most of us visit:

The Inner Landscape 

The Inner Landscape is the densest, most rugged, and challenging part of the road and landscape. The Inner Landscape is riddled with temporary traps, dead-ends, and side-trips—some pleasant, some not.  
 
Novice travelers may have to visit all the stops before they move on to The Divine Thresholds. Some may simply get bored and decide to move on to Thresholds 
on their own. For others, just a few stops are sufficient for them to drive away and only return when they need to re-visit The Past or other missed stops. 
 
The Divine Thresholds 

Often brought here by a sudden awareness or life altering event The Divine Thresholds hold the keys to deeper self-understanding, humility, and forgiveness for all travelers on the road of life.  

These Thresholds are also the starter realms of self realization (personal leadership) and energy mastery. At these rest stops travelers face themselves not with judgement, but with tenderness, deep reverence for life and respect.   
 
 
The Heaven on Earth 

Once travelers have sufficient road experience they naturally arrive at The Heaven on Earth-- a creative, collaborative and co-created dimension of life and living.  

At these imaginative and soulful stops, travelers rest, relax, and share their wisdom with others. Together, they create new models and better ways to live in harmony and build a better future for everyone on the road.

Most children don't hesitate expressing who they are and what they love. My sister's granddaughter is a perfect example.  She's eight-years old and is authentically intelligent, funny, thoughtful, and charismatic. She doesn't try to be this way, or apologize for expressing her essence. She is truly her own little person. She is smart and sassy --- a tiny package of multi-dimensional goodness the world has yet to tell her is "too much" or too bright.  And, hopefully that day will never come.  There's so many of us remembering and honoring our unique intelligence and gifts. The soft-skills I didn’t think I needed (but I was wrong)

Depending on your elemental nature (ei: your natal chart aspects/human design), you may or may not have good soft-skills. In particular, those of us with strong air or earth aspects are not as attuned to emotional intelligence -- the “feeling” stuff.   And so, I had to learn it and then teach it, and then re-learn it deeper and then teach it again….and now I’m writing about it, so that I can learn some more.  It took me about 30 years to realize that what we used to consider soft-skills  is simply social-emotional intelligence.   I’ve come to understand this too: emotional literacy and self-awareness  are not trivial or unimportant— they are self-mastery skills. Your mind is energy. Your body is energy. Your nervous system and its ability to pick up and decipher social-emotional information from self and others? Energetic self-mastery my friend. Divine neutrality

Anytime we make peace with our wounds and polarities -- with our own internal divide, we enter the realm of divine neutrality.  This is a tender space of deep contemplation and self-compassion. As we meet our own estrangement and forgive all the ways we've abandoned ourselves, we instantly realize the grace that's been with us all along.  As a natural consequence, we naturally allow others the grace of their own journey. We learn that no one needs  fixin'  only alignment and that happens at just the right time (for them).  Standing in neutral ground is not a stance of ignorance or being unaware or unengaged from the daily scuffles and battles of society. In fact, it makes individuals hyper-aware and informs them in ways that change them from the inside-out.  Yes, you can argue, fight, or debate, or you can walk the path that leads from your own divine heart instead.
